TWAP Trading launches on Spooky Finance!

The Spooky Fi team is excited to announce that TWAP swaps are available right now on Spooky.Fi! Thanks to ORBS HQ, traders can now minimize a large order’s impact on the market by dividing a trade into smaller quantities to be executed over time at regular intervals. Not only do TWAP swaps reduce the impact of an order on the market price of the token, meaning you could get a better deal on the price and receive more tokens, but this can also be used to automate dollar-cost averaging to average out investments over a long duration of time.

About TWAP

TWAP is short for Time-Weighted Average Price, an algorithmic type of trading strategy that aims to achieve an average execution price close to the time-weighted average price of the user-specified period. TWAP strategies minimize a large order’s impact on the market by partitioning larger orders into smaller quantities and executing them at regular intervals over time to trade assets at the desired price. This allows investors to take advantage of high price volatility by swapping at a low TWAP price, or submit a swap order that would otherwise have a large price impact on the LP pair.

Creating a TWAP Order

Go to Spooky Fi and click Swap
Click on the brand new TWAP tab located at the top of the swap modal window

TWAP orders are available for both the default and expert swap modes

3. The swap modal now displays additional options for price, intervals, and time that can be adjusted to optimize your swap order. Otherwise, click the “Create Order” button to start TWAP trading!

TWAP Settings

For more advanced investors, TWAP orders on Spooky Fi can be adjusted to have more control over each swap:

Price: Investors have the option to set a “limit price” for each order. If a limit option is not set, each trade in the TWAP order will be executed at the available market price. Note that with limit orders, it is possible that not all scheduled trades will be executed.

# of Intervals: This sets the total number of individual trades that will be scheduled as part of the TWAP order. When combined with limit orders, it is possible that not all scheduled trades can be executed.

Max Duration: This sets the maximum amount of time in minutes/hours/daysduring which the full TWAP order can be executed. Depending on your price and interval parameters, orders can be filled earlier than this time, partially filled or not filled at all. After this time has passed the order will become closed and no subsequent trades will happen in it. You can always start a new order with new settings to complement an existing partially filled order.

Trade Interval: Trade Interval sets the minimum amount of time between each trade in the TWAP order. If the trade interval setting is adjusted from the default of 1 hour, you will also need to set the number of intervals and duration manually as well.
